Job Summary
Cashier serves as the first and last point of contact for customers, greeting customers, accurately processing transactions at the point of sale, and expressing appreciation for their business. The role also entails answering incoming calls and directing them to appropriate departments or individuals, while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor. Requires ability to count back change accurately, cash handling, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with sales staff, office managers, and other team members. Working in a mostly air-conditioned environment with standing, walking, and light lifting, this position emphasizes reliability, memorization, and multitasking in a retail/home-improvement context.
Required Qualifications
- Basic education that includes the ability to competently read and write
- Cashiering experience (typing and keypunch skills) preferred
- Must be able to count back change accurately
- Cashiering skills and building industry knowledge preferred
