Job Summary
Operate cash registers and electronic scanners to itemize purchases, process payments including cash, checks, and loyalty cards, and assist with bagging groceries. Weigh and bag customer items while merchandising check-stand displays and ensuring accurate product identification and pricing. Communicate store programs and specials to customers, maintain a clean department, and comply with safety, sanitation, and security policies. May assist with stocking items and perform additional tasks as needed. Located in Holland, Michigan, this role requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of prior retail or related experience
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a retail store environment with varied temperatures
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling, the sale of alcohol and tobacco products
- Ability to comply with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards
- Ability to follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
- Ability to follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
- Ability to follow guest experience guidelines
