Job Summary
Ring up purchases, handle cash and credit card sales, and provide correct change while maintaining register accuracy. Assist customers with merchandise selection, answer questions, and recommend new items. Operate the cash register, stock displays from donations, and keep fixtures neat and orderly. Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting high-touch areas like restrooms. Collect carts, ensure public areas are clean, and expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor. Maintain clutter-free emergency exits and report unsafe conditions immediately. Work under direct supervision to complete all assigned duties, including production tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including phones, registers and PC as required
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds
- Ability to regularly push, pull and lifting to 50 pounds
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies
- Flexibility to adapt and change duties as needed by the store management
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of prior cashier or retail customer service experience preferred
