Job Summary
Greet customers promptly, assist with loading and unloading, and answer phone calls while maintaining an organized check stand. Count back change accurately, correct transaction mistakes immediately, and call for additional cashiers when lines exceed three people. Ensure adequate stock of supplies like register tape and bags, fold plant-carrying flats, prepare clothing for displays, and rotate soda cooler items. Attend product and cooperative meetings as requested. Uphold all cooperative policies and perform other duties as required by the supervising manager. High school diploma or GED required with basic math and communication skills. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to stand and work for long periods
- Familiarity with computers, including MS Office Suite
