Job Summary
Operate cash registers and electronic scanners to itemize and total customer purchases, process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, and coupons, and assist in bagging groceries. Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases while maintaining a clean, well-stocked department that complies with safety and sanitation standards. Perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stands and communicating store programs and specials to customers. Ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs, report pricing errors, and comply with security and cash handling policies. May assist with stocking items and follow all PPE and food safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of prior retail or related experience
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a varied temperature retail store environment
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling, the sale of alcohol and tobacco products
- Ability to comply with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards
- Ability to follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
- Ability to follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
- Ability to follow guest experience guidelines
Desired Qualifications
