Job Summary
As a Cashier at Meijer, you will craft quality customer experiences by providing efficient, friendly checkout service in the store. You will complete transactions accurately using the cashier register system, handle money responsibly, maintain POS accuracy, and use technology to support tasks. You will build trustful relationships with customers to encourage return visits, respond to questions appropriately, and contribute to a positive, welcoming shopping environment. The role emphasizes customer service, eye contact and body language, a courteous attitude, problem-solving when needed, and teamwork to support store operations.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually
- Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology
- Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary
- Desire to work with customers
- Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required
- Good verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to operate cashier register system
