Job Summary
Cashier responsibilities include handling orders and payments, ensuring accurate POS transactions, and delivering friendly service to encourage guests to return. The role involves maintaining a neat front of house, restocking items, and answering phones. Growth opportunities within Luby's include advancement to positions such as Certified Trainer, Shift Leader, and Management. Training is provided; prior experience is preferred but not required. Must be at least 18, undergo a background check, and complete the Cashier Certification criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Must Be at least 18 years of age
- Must submit to a background check prior to starting any cash handling position
- Must pass Luby’s Cashier Certification criteria
- Must have good organizational skills
- Previous experience working with a Point of Sale (POS) system is a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand for several hours
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be a team player
