Job Summary
Receive payment via cash, check, credit cards, and vouchers while issuing receipts, refunds, and change. Greet customers, resolve complaints, and answer questions about store policies. Count cash drawers at shift start, reconcile daily sales, and notify management of discrepancies. Bag merchandise, stock shelves, mark prices, and perform cleaning duties including windows and parking lots. Process returns, exchanges, and ticket sales while maintaining orderly checkout areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Required to have access to a phone at all times
- Able to read and understand operating instructions for equipment in store such as electronic cash register
- Able to operate a cash register for up to 8 hours or longer
- Able to lift 25 pounds at least once during shift
- Good oral communication skills
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations in order to make change, complete shift reports and account for a variety of products during vendor check in
- Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening
