Job Summary
Greet and welcome guests with genuine warmth, escorting them to tables based on party size and station assignments. Answer incoming calls professionally and book reservations using the company system while processing payments accurately via POS and maintaining strict cash handling procedures. Manage station assignments, rotating planning, and opening/closing/securing procedures, then complete all side work duties to support restaurant operations. Coordinate seating with servers and kitchen staff to resolve guest concerns and maintain organized records for reservations and transactions. Adapt flexibly to changing priorities in high-volume situations while communicating fluently in English.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) months of experience as a host in a high-volume and/or fine dining environment (preferred)
- Proven experience with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest service
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- Physical capability to stand and walk for the duration of a normal shift
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (hear, speak, read, and write)
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining consistent performance standards
- Strong collaborative spirit with ability to work seamlessly as part of a team
- Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by the organization
- Flexible availability, including willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
