Job Summary
Operate the cash register and perform all related checkout procedures in a fast, efficient, friendly, and accurate manner. Comply with all company policies, including ID verification for tobacco, alcohol, and WIC, and notify management of pricing errors or missing items. Assist guests with product locations, bag purchases, and implement security and cash drawer accounting procedures. Maintain knowledge of current product codes, special prices, and coupon deals to ensure fast checkouts. Possess basic math skills for units of money and understand gross projections, transmittals, and inventory paperwork as assigned. Requires Tobacco and Alcohol certification, ability to lift 50lbs, and a minimum age of 19.
Required Qualifications
- Tobacco and Alcohol Certified
- Applicable cashier duty certifications
- Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals
- Basic math skills
- Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs or more
- 19 years of age
