Job Summary
Operate cash registers professionally, assist customers promptly and courteously, and sort, clean, price, and arrange merchandise for marketing. Ensure store cleanliness and display items in a pleasing manner while representing the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches positively to donors and the public. This role requires a high school diploma, math skills, and a working knowledge of retail operations. The position offers $15.00 per hour with full-time status, annual leave, sick leave, 11 paid holidays, and a 4% 401(k) match. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the FDLE.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with individuals and small groups
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Working knowledge of cash register and general office equipment
- Ability to meet customers and/or donors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
- Working knowledge of retail store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory, and pricing
- Ability to produce a high quantity and quality of work
- Ability to plan and organize work and meet deadlines
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
