Job Summary
Engage guests with friendly conversations and maintain eye contact to ensure every shopper feels welcome. Scan grocery items, process sales, and handle monetary transactions efficiently while bagging products thoughtfully. Keep the register station neat and stocked with supplies, relaying guest requests to leadership as needed. Maintain awareness of promotions to assist shoppers effectively and ensure quality standards are met during peak times at 10 am and 5 pm. Perform other duties as needed to support the team while adhering to a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Walk in the store
- Bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store
- Ability to lift
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding retail sales and service
- Ability to process information and merchandise transactions and handle cash and media at registers
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with both customers and retail associate team members
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately to ensure precise transactions
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
