Job Summary
Greet customers entering the store and answer questions regarding merchandise. Establish prices using scanners or calculators, compute transaction totals, and receive payments via cash, check, credit card, or automatic debit. Validate checks by requesting driver's license information and issue receipts, refunds, or change. Bag or box merchandise, offer carry-out service, and process returns or exchanges. Count money in cash drawers, sort currency, weigh items for pricing, and assist with register investigations. Resolve customer complaints courteously and assist in stocking shelves or marking prices. Shift work includes standing for the majority of the time and lifting up to 50 pounds. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Proven work history in providing customer service
- Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and utilize computer system
- Ability to effectively communicate information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work majority of shift standing
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- GED or equivalent experience preferred not required
