Job Summary
Conduct efficient checkout services, bag groceries, and transport items to customers while ensuring accurate tender and price verifications. Maintain correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items, and keep registers balanced by adhering to tender policies for checks, credit, debit, coupons, and EBT. Greet customers, answer questions, locate products, and promote the Thank You Card program while responding to complaints in a safe, sanitary environment. Stock and clean front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning stations, and handle restricted items like tobacco and alcohol in compliance with local laws. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-the-job training provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- TABC/LACT certification where applicable
- Basic knowledge of cash register
- Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures
- Basic mathematical and counting skills
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes
- Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Close vision
