Job Summary
Engage with customers, provide efficient checkout services, bag and transport groceries, and locate products while conducting price verifications. Ensure correct checkout totals by properly weighing, keying, and scanning items, and maintain accurate money counts in the register. Greet customers, answer questions, and respond to complaints while promoting the Thank You Card program. Bag groceries properly to prevent cross-contamination and ensure all items are received. Keep front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning stations stocked and presentable in a safe, sanitary environment. Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding restricted items. Requires basic cash register knowledge, mathematical skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail setting. Flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- TABC/LACT certification where applicable
- Basic knowledge of cash register
- Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures
- Basic mathematical and counting skills
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes
- Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Close vision

- Ability to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
