Job Summary
Conduct efficient checkout services by weighing, keying, and scanning items to ensure correct totals. Maintain accurate money counts in the register while accessing product codes and promoting the Thank You Card program. Bag groceries properly, limit bag weight, and prevent food cross-contamination during transport. Keep front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning stations stocked and presentable in a safe, sanitary environment. Greet customers, answer questions, locate products, and respond to complaints while adhering to tender policies for checks, credit, and EBT. Comply with all laws regarding restricted items such as tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis-based products. Requires basic cash register knowledge, mathematical skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- TABC/LACT certification where applicable
- Basic knowledge of cash register
- Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures
- Basic mathematical and counting skills
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes
- Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Close vision

- Depth perception or the ability to focus
- Ability to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Ability to use fine finger movements
