Job Summary
Independently process, apply, and audit high-volume customer payments across complex payment gateways, lockboxes, wires, and EDI electronic remittance files. Analyze customer payment histories, contracts, and invoices to resolve intricate unapplied cash, unidentified deposits, short pays, overpayments, and ledger balances. Collaborate directly with Treasury, Billing, Collections, and Finance leadership to resolve structural payment exceptions and align cash flow records. Proactively identify workflow bottlenecks, support system upgrade/UAT testing, and recommend process automation such as automated match rules and lockbox optimization. Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support month-end close schedules, enforce SOX compliance controls, and monitor team work queues. Provide day-to-day guidance, technical support, and informal training to Cash Applications Analyst I team members.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of dedicated experience in cash applications, accounts receivable (A/R), or complex financial accounting operations
- Deep expertise in A/R mechanics, double-entry ledger balancing, short-pay resolution, and root-cause ledger auditing
- Proven hands-on proficiency with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested formulas, and data manipulation tools for large financial datasets
- Ability to research unstructured financial data, untangle complex historical account ledgers, and execute corrective actions autonomously
- Proven experience working within enterprise ERP platforms while adhering strictly to SOX compliance guidelines and internal controls
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Practical experience with platforms such as Oracle Cloud Fusion, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, or analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx
- Background in healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM), SaaS/technology billing, or high-volume B2B environments
- Direct participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ERP migrations, or automated cash application tool rollouts
- Must be available for night shift
