Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY This is entry level professional social service work in our County Behavioral Health/Developmental Services Agency. The caseworker trainee participates in a formal and informal training program within the Support Coordination Unit, learning to locate, coordinate, and monitor services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. The role involves assisting clients to develop their potential, making referrals to community resources, and beginning to manage a caseload of up to 35 clients under supervision. The position emphasizes learning agency policies, documentation techniques, and use of required databases, with opportunities for on-the-job training and progression to the Caseworker role after probation. Knowledge areas include human development and behavior, psychology/sociology, and ability to interpret laws and policies governing agency services. Requires ability to plan and organize work, maintain records, and express ideas orally and in writing. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent with 12 related college credits) and must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks (FBI, PA State Police Criminal History, Childline). A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history are required. Required Qualifications
