Job Summary
Provide support and supervision to carers of children in BACS's out-of-home care program to achieve quality outcomes. Conduct placement matching, ensure case plan goals align with permanency guidelines, and monitor placements through home visits and related support. Advocate for each child's rights under the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child and ensure compliance with all application legislation, including the Carer Protection Act and OCG Standards. Maintain appropriate records per the service management system and BACS Records Management Policy. Provide on-call availability to carers, children in care, and support agencies via mobile phone. Work flexibly across Monday to Sunday.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent
- Ability to work flexibly across Monday - Sunday
- Experience working in Out of Home Care or the Child Protection sector
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong casework skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage & work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management and personal organisational skills
- Ability to work independently, as a team member
- High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Current NSW driver's licence
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including the National Police Check and Working with Children clearances in accordance with BACS policies and procedures
- Proof or Confirmation of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander heritage
