Job Summary
Provide transportation assistance and supervise visitation with families whose children are in foster care to support reunification efforts. Document interactions of family members and perform clerical work in a supportive role to caseworker staff. Maintain a current, valid New York State driver's license throughout employment. Work flexible hours between 8:30 am and 8:30 pm, with potential alternate schedules for weekend visits. This para-professional position at the Oswego County Department of Social Services assists casework staff directly in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of 60 semester credit hours
- Graduation from high school
- Possession of an equivalency diploma
- Two (2) years of para-professional experience in a social service or community service agency
- Two (2) years of para-professional experience in a hospital
- Two (2) years of para-professional experience in a physician's office
- Para-professional experience involving client or patient contact
- Current, valid, New York State driver's license at time of appointment
- Maintenance of license throughout the course of employment
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
- Ability to work additional hours dependent upon the needs of the Department
