Job Summary
Assist casework staff in providing direct client services, including shopping for and setting up households for arriving refugee families, transporting clients to appointments such as Social Security and the Health Department, and orienting new refugees to the Charlottesville public transit system. Perform administrative tasks by completing service applications on behalf of clients, creating documentation for case files, and making appointments. Advocate for clients during service delivery while representing the IRC professionally. Record hours and submit completed timesheets monthly via the IRC's online Volunteer Dashboard. This unpaid role requires a car for field work and must be completed in Charlottesville, Virginia, with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, responsible, able to complete tasks within required time-frame
- Must have a car and be willing to transport clients in your personal vehicle
