Job Summary
Facilitate psycho-education group sessions addressing substance use for persons in custody or under community supervision, conducting initial engagement to build rapport and individual outcomes. Administer pre- and post-testing aligned to program intensity, including psychological assessments for high-intensity programs. Operate within national and state harm minimisation frameworks while recognising the spectrum of substance use stages and associated risk factors. Flexibly meet client needs through outreach and adjusted hours to maximise participation, considering support requirements for clients and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Current Blue Card
- Queensland Corrective Services Criminal History Check
- Deliver psychoeducation group facilitation to persons in custody or under community supervision to address substance use and related issues
- An understanding of group dynamics, group facilitation and the delivery of alcohol and other drug psychoeducation in group settings
- An understanding of Motivational Interviewing and the Stages of Change model and relapse prevention strategies
- Undergraduate qualifications in health/human services
- Experience in delivering alcohol and other drug services
