Job Summary
Support the delivery of the Regional Support Hub Bindjareb program by working directly with Aboriginal children, young people, and families requiring assistance. Provide early intervention, advocacy, referral, and support services to help families access necessary resources. Build strong partnerships with local service providers, develop interagency networks, and facilitate referrals to ensure clients navigate available services effectively. Maintain accurate client records, contribute to positive outcomes, and travel to outreach sites. Assist in managing the Service Network phone service to connect clients with appropriate supports timely. This role requires a strengths-based approach to case management and collaboration with government and non-government agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent in accordance with Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act
- An understanding of the Children and Community Services Act 2004 and its application when working with children and families
- Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and young people, with a commitment to supporting their wellbeing and safety
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, values, and the contemporary issues impacting Aboriginal people, with the ability to build respectful and trusting relationships with children, families, communities, and stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and meaningful reports
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively as part of a supportive team
- The ability to build positive partnerships and work confidently with government and non-government agencies, community groups, and service providers to achieve the best outcomes for families
- Well-developed problem-solving, analytical, and case management skills, with a strengths-based approach to supporting children and families
- Possession of or substantial progress toward a qualification in Social Work, Youth Work or other relevant qualification or substantial lived experience relevant to the position and willingness to complete further education
- National Police Clearance
- A valid WA Working with Children Check
- Satisfactory completion of a Drug and Alcohol test
