Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Community Services, Welfare Studies or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• •Current driver's licence
• •Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain)
• •National Police Check
• •Understanding of mandatory reporting obligations and child-centred practice
• •Demonstrated knowledge of the Child Safety system and issues impacting vulnerable children and families
• •Experience working with families experiencing complex needs, including family violence, trauma and high levels of resistance
• •Strong case management skills, including developing case plans, safety plans and risk assessments
• •Sound understanding of child development and the impact of trauma on children and family functioning
• •Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
• •Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and across community service networks
• •Strong report writing, organisational and administrative skills
• •Competency in Microsoft Office and client management systems
• •The ability to work autonomously while remaining connected to a supportive team environment
• •Commitment to the vision, mission and values of CatholicCare Tasmania
• •a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania
• •Demonstrated high level working knowledge of the Child Safety System and understanding of the issues that impact on families within this system, particularly family violence
• •Demonstrated ability to develop case plans, safety plans, and risk assessments which relate appropriate models of intervention that assist and empower families
• •Demonstrated knowledge and competencies appropriate to working with vulnerable families including the ability to engage and work effectively with high level family resistance and complex family needs across multiple developmental stages
• •Demonstrated knowledge of child developmental stages, and the impact of trauma on childhood development and behaviour
• •Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, across agency programs and with other agencies in the community
• •eligibility to work in Australia
