Job Summary

Conduct professional-level casework duties for children, biological, and foster parents by investigating referrals, interviewing families and agencies, and developing treatment plans. Manage a caseload through field and office work, including gathering information, counseling clients, and coordinating with governmental bodies to expedite permanency planning. Submit all progress notes and FASP online in Connections within 72 hours of events, ensuring supervisor review and approval before case discharge. Respond to case emergencies after hours or on weekends while maintaining accurate records of contacts, visits, and court appearances. Use a personal vehicle for field assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices of social casework
  • Good knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations governing the care and treatment of children
  • Experience related to services to families and children
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, relatives, and other individuals
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive case records
  • Ability to reach logical conclusions based on pertinent regulations and information
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field (Human Services, Psychology, or Sociology)
  • A valid NYS Driver's License
