Job Summary
The Case Manager at Ruby's Place provides direct services to participants in a congregate shelter, addressing immediate needs and supporting stable housing. Responsibilities include participant engagement and assessment, developing individualized service plans, case management support, housing navigation, and team collaboration. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage a high caseload, and experience with trauma-informed care and housing resources. A Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum of two years of experience providing case management or direct services to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability
- In possession of a valid CA driver's license and proof of insurance
- Able to complete all required background checks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in shelter or residential settings
- Knowledge of housing resources, benefits systems, and community services
- Strong organizational, communication, and engagement skills
- Experience with HMIS or similar data management systems
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and housing-first approaches
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs, including behavioral health or substance use challenges
Additional Requirements
- Instances where staff cannot be approved to drive will be reviewed on a case by case basis
- Additional requirements may be deemed necessary, including fingerprinting (Live Scan)
