Job Summary
Case Manager within The Salvation Army's Homelessness Program in Darwin, delivering culturally safe, strengths-based and trauma-informed support to participants navigating homelessness, mental health concerns, substance use and social disconnection. Responsibilities include intake and assessments, developing and implementing individual case plans, connecting clients with health, housing and community services, advocacy with government and non-government agencies, maintaining confidential records, risk identification and safety planning, and facilitating life skills and group activities. The role emphasizes building strong, culturally respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities and diverse backgrounds, working within a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to a safe, dignified service environment. The position is full-time and pays according to SCHADS Level 4, with additional benefits and opportunities for training and development. This is a social and purpose-driven role focused on walking alongside clients to stabilise, reconnect and rebuild their lives.
Required Qualifications
- A qualification in Social Work, Mental Health, Welfare, Community Development or similar, or a Certificate IV with strong sector experience
- Experience supporting people facing homelessness, AOD challenges, mental health concerns or involvement with the justice system
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload
- Clear and compassionate communication and the ability to build trust quickly
- Resilience, adaptability and a commitment to trauma informed and culturally safe practice
