Job Summary
The Case Manager Substance Use Counselor serves as the primary support and case manager for individuals with mental illness, focusing on assisting them to live independently while addressing substance abuse and addiction issues. Responsibilities include managing cases, providing support, and ensuring clients are engaged in their recovery process. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications in substance abuse counseling, and six months of experience in an addictions setting. CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification are also required, along with a valid driver's license. The position offers various employee benefits and a competitive salary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor (CATC)
- Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC, SUDCC II, III, IV) or Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP in the state of WA)
- Certification as Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC), Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC) or Licensed Substance Abuse Technician (LSAT) in AZ
- Six (6) months' experience in addictions setting
- Current CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification
- Valid and current driver's license and personal vehicle insurance
- Ability to apply financial requirements for billing and learn billing codes within two (2) months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues
- Willingness to use personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups
- Credentialed as a qualified mental health professional, where applicable
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- All certifications must be maintained for duration of employment
