Job Summary
Responsible for learning and integrating a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in support of homeless youth at the Uptown Drop-in Center. Tasks include conducting intake and assessments, providing crisis intervention counseling, and engaging adolescents in program structures. The role involves advocacy for clients in social services, collaboration with mental health providers, and maintaining comprehensive case records. Ideal candidates should have relevant experience or a bachelor's degree, along with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach, strong communication skills, and an interest in working with disenfranchised youth.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a social services setting
- Personal experience with street survival activities with three years separation from involvement in these activities
- Experience working with youth who have Co-occurring Disorders
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience working with youth in social service settings with target population
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in implementing Evidence Based Interventions in trauma informed care in work with youth
- At least 1 year working with the homeless population, youth, or harm reduction
