Job Summary
Conduct specialized case management for individuals and families facing multiple barriers, including homelessness, incarceration, unemployment, and mental health concerns. Screen clients, assess needs, and develop progressive case plans while coordinating referrals from helplines, parish volunteers, and the Georgetown foodbank. Perform home visits and maintain detailed client progress notes, caseload reports, and financial aid disbursement records using the client database. Utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques to guide clients toward self-sufficiency, while developing working relationships with external providers and SVDP volunteers. Assist in coordinating social service programs at the Food Bank and satellite offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or in a related field
- AA in related field with 4+ years of relevant work or volunteer experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, safety manuals, and regulations
- Ability to write reports
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software
- Familiarity with client-based software
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
- Ability to understand common financial reports, payroll records, and cash management reports
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Clear and understandable speech patterns
- Ability to hear in quiet as well as in noisy environments
- Ability to work in groups of two or more in close proximity
