Job Summary
Provide direct counseling and mental health/substance abuse services in collaboration with a licensed clinician to patients with substance use and/or mental health diagnoses. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine level of service, administer approved instruments, prepare induction and eligibility documentation, coordinate client intake and transportation from jail facilities, deliver presentations, and facilitate referrals. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and support the mission of WestCare Foundation. Requires the ability to obtain CDCR clearance, a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification, and TB testing; bilingual abilities preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health and/or substance use counseling; or an Associates degree with behavioral health major and/or working towards a degree with comparable years of qualifying experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of college-level education is required.
- Two (2) years of experience in providing direct counseling services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems is preferred
