Job Summary
Oversee patient customer service issues with insurance, specialty pharmacy, and support programs by liaising with Regional Business Managers, Patient Access Liaisons, and Medical Science Liaisons to ensure accurate communication on insurance approvals and reauthorizations. Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve reimbursement issues including denials, appeals, and billing problems while maintaining case histories and tracking reimbursement and shipping status for all U.S. patients. Counsel patients and families on insurance options, report adverse events and product complaints, and manage annual Open Enrollment efforts to ensure adequate access. This role requires a Master's degree or equivalent experience and involves up to 20% travel. Amgen is a leading biotechnology company serving over 10 million patients worldwide.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Case Management experience
- Associate's degree and 6 years of Case Management experience
- High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Case Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- 2+ years prior experience as a Case Manager
- Excellent communication skills
- commitment to customer service
- Ability to effectively resolve hurdles across multiple cases at the same time
- Ability to learn product and disease information
- familiarity with HIPAA
- familiarity with FDA
- Ability to manage communication with case managers and sales reps across multiple geographies and time zones
- Excel skills
