Job Summary
Case Manager in a family shelter setting located in Staten Island, NY. Responsibilities include completing family intake and records, designing social service plans with residents, setting and following up on housing goals, securing entitlements and advocating for families, assisting clients in obtaining permanent housing, making referrals to housing agencies, developing housing-readiness and related counseling programs, collaborating with family monitors, attending interdisciplinary and administrative meetings, and submitting monthly reports. Requires collaboration, strong communication, and experience with the homeless population.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required with previous experience with the homeless population needed.
- The ability to establish workload priorities and balance a diverse caseload.
- Exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues or regulations.
