Job Summary
Coordinate solutions with police officers and social service agencies to connect individuals with mental health needs to appropriate services (mental health treatment, substance abuse rehabilitation, housing, victim support). Provide emotional support, advocacy, and resources to crime victims and families, especially during traumatic events. Build bridges between law enforcement and the community to foster trust, maintain thorough case records, and advocate for community access to resources. Apply knowledge of motivational interviewing, engagement strategies, co-occurring disorders, and stages of change to determine appropriate level of care. Office-based role out of Clinton Township Police Department in Clinton Township, MI, with some evening/weekend hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Bachelor's of Social Work (Preferred)
- One or more years experience working as a Social Worker or Case Manager
- Active status with licensure or certification (LLBSW or LBSW)
- Completion of ICHAT check, National and State Sex Offender Registry Check
