Job Summary
Full-time Case Manager position in the Bronx, NY for The Next Generation Center (NGC) at Children’s Aid under the NYS Office of Victim Services contract. The role supports youth ages 14–26 who are victims of crime or witnesses to crime by delivering counseling, case management, referrals, and assistance with crime-victim compensation processes. Responsibilities include conducting outreach and engagement, assessing medical/mental health and other needs, evaluating trauma symptoms, providing crisis intervention and safety planning, coordinating referrals and services, accompanying participants to court or appointments, maintaining thorough records and OVS reports, and collaborating with clinical and program staff to develop and implement treatment plans. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, knowledge of community resources, experience with high-risk populations, and strong documentation and communication skills. Prior experience with Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed care is preferred, as is case management experience and the ability to engage high-risk youth; computer proficiency and a commitment to equal employment opportunity are also emphasized. The incumbent will work in a hybrid arrangement, with collaboration across NGC staff and participation in required trainings and team meetings. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or higher in a related field required
- Knowledge of community resources and counseling practices with high-risk populations
- Experience working with persons in crisis including victims of crime; experience working with youths of color and LGBTQ people strongly preferred
- Training/experience in Motivational Interviewing and trauma informed care preferred
- Case management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent documentation skills
- Ability to use strength-based interventions
- Ability to develop alliances with high risk and difficult to engage youth
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
