Job Summary
Manage a caseload of long-term disability claims by obtaining pertinent information to evaluate claim credibility and applying contractual provisions to decide acceptance, denial, and payment duration. Prepare written rationales for decisions based on medical and occupational records, clearly communicating the rationale with sensitivity to claimant circumstances. Process claims for payment by setting up systems for accurate and timely receipt of benefits, while assessing vocational rehabilitation opportunities and utilizing investigative tools. May testify in court cases and provide depositions related to claim disputes based on technical expertise. This role requires excellent communication skills, independent work capability, and detailed claimant interviews within a hybrid model requiring two days of in-office presence.
