Job Summary
Manage complex litigation matters from factual and procedural perspectives, serving as the central coordination point for attorneys, clients, outside counsel, and vendors. Draft legal documents, oversee document collections, and prepare for depositions, trials, and mediations while applying advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules. Lead the paralegal team by delegating work, managing case staffing, and developing tracking systems to improve efficiency. Monitor case budgets and resources to ensure projects complete within financial constraints. Interact extensively with clients as a key point of contact while mentoring associates and providing training. This senior-level role combines sophisticated litigation support with team leadership, ideal for an experienced paralegal managing high-volume product liability, mass tort, and class action matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
- 10+ years of paralegal experience within a relevant practice group
- Extensive experience with complex litigation, particularly product liability, mass tort, and class action matters
- Advanced understanding of federal, state, and local court rules and electronic and hard-copy filing procedures
- Proven ability to serve as a lead paralegal and oversee attorneys, paralegals, case assistants, vendors, and complex workflows
- Strong client-facing experience, including interaction with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and other external parties
- Highly advanced technical skills with experience developing and maintaining case-management and tracking systems
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing case budgets, staffing, and resources
- Excellent leadership, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions and time zones while managing a high volume of complex work
- Independent, proactive, and able to balance sophisticated legal work with the operational and business needs of the practice
- California-based paralegals must meet applicable California Paralegal requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience acting as a lead paralegal or managing complex cases and legal teams strongly preferred
