Case Manager - Employment Services

Job Summary
Conduct full needs assessments of clients and provide employment consultation to unemployed individuals, specifically Ontario Works clients facing extensive barriers to employment. Develop and maintain action plans for job searches while facilitating life skills, job search, and pre-employment workshops. Match job seekers to opportunities by recruiting employers and monitoring progress in the work environment, then provide one year of job retention support. Advocate on behalf of clients to community employers and services, and prepare statistical reports and file documentation to process government-funded training payments and employment subsidies.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent in Employment Counselling, Social Service Work, Social Work, or a related field
- Fluent in English, oral and written
- Valid permit to work in Canada
- A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old
- Related experience might include: Recruitment, Training, HR Certification, Common Assessment Training, Life Skills Certification, Teaching and Training Adults Certification, Drug and Alcohol Counselling
- Experience in employment counselling and job development/matching
- Experience with case management and data entry
- Intermediate computer skills (use of databases, Microsoft Suite)
- High level of interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Superior problem solving and creative skills
- Ability to work with adult and youth clients with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Ability to work with community partners and build and maintain relationships
- Annual completion of mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth
