Job Summary
Assist patients to understand provider recommendations, screen medical calls, and post information to medical records while planning continuity of treatment. Discharge patients, arrange referrals and follow-up appointments, and act as a liaison for specialty providers and social services. Provide health education, document pertinent data, and maintain activity logs for mammograms, Pap tests, and STDs. Generate and route data forms, review superbills, and process billing for Managed Care, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Assist with translation, transportation vouchers, and immunization inventory. Perform clerical duties including filing, answering phones, and directing calls while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and ergonomics safety.
Required Qualifications
- Case Management certificate or 1-year experience in related position
- Medical Assistant training and certificate of completion
- Minimum of one year experience in the medical field
- Annual CPR certification – adult, child, infant, and obstructed airway
- Valid California Driver License
- Automobile insurance coverage
- Reliable automobile for use on the job
- TB clearance
- Annual Influenza Vaccination
- Ability to relate and communicate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community
