Job Summary
Facilitate delivery of cognitive behavioral curriculum in individual and group settings focusing on motivation for change, social adjustment, and problem-solving skills. Conduct periodic reviews of curriculum and resources to enhance participant engagement. Maintain class rosters, attendance records, and provide completion certificates for evidence-based programs. Support assessment of participant needs and make referrals to management. Provide individual and group counseling in areas including self-esteem, relationships, and post-release planning. Communicate with participants regarding reentry planning and identify community resources. Work Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM with virtual classes outside those hours in a hybrid arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related field
- Previous experience as a facilitator/educator/group moderator
- Experience within a correctional setting
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Extensive organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with the correctional system
- Knowledge of current correctional policies
- Thorough understanding of the Principles of Effective Intervention
- Ability to work with a team of professionals
- Ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments
- Ability to work with computers
- Familiarity with the necessary software typically used by the department
- Staff availability during work hours for Memphis DRC
- Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM -3:00 PM availability
- Hybrid work arrangement between TDOC office and home office
