Job Summary
Facilitate delivery of cognitive behavioral curriculum in individual and group settings focusing on motivation for change, social adjustment, and problem-solving skills. Conduct periodic reviews of curriculum and resources to enhance participant participation in life skills programming. Maintain class rosters, attendance records, and provide completion certificates for evidence-based programs. Support assessment of participant needs and make referrals to management. Provide individual and group counseling in areas including self-esteem, relationships, and reentry planning. Communicate with participants regarding community resources and encourage assumption of responsibility for post-release behaviors. Requires Bachelor's degree in social sciences, prior facilitator experience, and valid driver's license. Full-time hybrid schedule with $21/hr base pay and $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related field
- previous experience as a facilitator/educator/group moderator
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills
- Extensive organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiar with the correctional system and current correctional policies
- Possess a thorough understanding of the Principles of Effective Intervention that empirical evidence has proven to successfully reduce recidivism
- Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
