Job Summary

Case Manager for an asylum shelter in the New York Metropolitan Area, supporting asylum seekers by conducting intake assessments, developing individualized living plans, coordinating housing resources, and collaborating with legal and advocacy organizations to facilitate asylum processes and services. Responsibilities include psycho-social assessments within 30 days, guiding clients through the asylum process, connecting to culturally sensitive resources, maintaining confidential case files, escorting clients to appointments, and providing ongoing client support and crisis management. Requires experience with community resources, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to navigate asylum-specific services; bilingual abilities preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
  • Associate degree in human services or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of direct social service experience.
  • High School Diploma/General Educational Development with a minimum of 4+ years of direct social service experience.
  • Must pass drug screening to be appointed.
