Job Summary
Case Manager duties include crisis intervention for individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, providing information and education on mental health issues, referring clients to supportive services, and developing/maintaining treatment plans. The role requires preparing records, collaborating with staff, complying with ADA accommodations, and traveling as needed. The candidate should possess an associate degree or higher in behavioral sciences (or equivalent experience), may need professional certification/licensure, and a valid CT driver’s license. Strong knowledge of substance abuse effects, mental health issues, community resources, confidentiality laws, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in the behavioral sciences or two years’ experience in counseling preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or a license
- A valid Connecticut driver's license may be required
- Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social and economic effects of substance abuse
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
