Case Management Intern

Job Summary

Conduct home visits to elders, perform assessments, and formulate care plans while coordinating in-home service delivery. Shadow case managers, program specialists, and managers to manage cases under supervision and assist with administrative duties including record-keeping and data entry. Ensure compliance with Executive Office of Elder Affairs regulations and ASNCM policies while participating in program reviews, staff meetings, and quality improvement activities. This 35-hour per week internship, equivalent to a 12-credit class, requires travel throughout Massachusetts in a private vehicle and the ability to lift 20 pounds. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program
  • Must pass a necessary background check
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, which permits communication with supervisors, co-workers, consumers, community professionals, and the general public
  • Ability to talk on a phone, stand, walk, sit, and travel in the community
  • Ability to travel throughout the state of Massachusetts in a private vehicle under all weather conditions, including snow
  • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing
  • Sufficient vision which permits production and review of a wide variety of materials, written correspondence, reports, and related electronic and paper communication
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 20 pounds
  • Ability to read and analyze data
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
