Job Summary
The Case Aide will provide direct service to at-risk youth by supervising participants, teaching daily living and social skills, managing behavior, and aiding in their transition into the community. Responsibilities include developing relationships with participants, assisting case managers, documenting case notes, implementing individual management plans, and leading life skills groups. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have skills in childcare or the capacity to develop such skills. Applicants should demonstrate effective teamwork and communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have high school diploma/GED or related degree
- All Case Aides must have an initial medical examination proving free of communicable diseases
- Must have demonstrated ability to work within agency structure and program and to accept agency supervision
- Must have demonstrated ability to work constructively with parents, other agencies and the community
- Must be open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients
- Must be able to work as a team member
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and reliable automobile
- Must pass required background checks
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of community and social service agencies
- Demonstrated skills in the field of childcare or capacity to develop such skills
- Experience and/or knowledge of the use of computer software for data entry, communication, and writing reports
- Ability to work effectively with peers, individual clients, and groups
- Desire to learn new skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; detail-oriented and writing skills a must
