Job Summary

Lead multiple online Supplemental Instruction sessions weekly to foster interactive student discussions on difficult course content. Create engaging activities tailored to online formats to maximize student participation and effective study habits. Integrate course-specific learning strategies to support academic progress. Complete mandatory orientation, training sessions, and scheduled meetings as required by the Director of Tutoring Services. Perform assigned administrative duties related to SI. Requires current LU student status with a 3.0 GPA and "A" or "B" in the tutored course. Part-time remote role starting at $12.77/hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Residential undergraduate or graduate student
  • "A" or "B" in the course you wish to tutor
  • Cumulative LU GPA of at least 3.0
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
  • Enthusiasm for ministering to and helping students improve their knowledge of course content and effective study habits
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organization
  • Appropriate and professional behavior
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
  • Ability to frequently sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard
  • Ability to regularly hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally

  • Letter of recommendation from the instructor of the course(s)
  • Previous tutoring experience
  • "A" in each course you wish to tutor
