Job Summary
SI Leader positions provide online supplemental instruction for enrolled online sections. Responsibilities include leading multiple online SI sessions weekly to foster interactive discussion, creating engaging activities for online learning, applying course-specific study strategies to maximize progress, participating in orientation and training, and handling SI-related administrative duties. Essential skills include strong communication, organizational abilities, problem solving, and proficiency with computers to support students across remote online courses.
Required Qualifications
- Current Residential undergraduate or graduate student with an 'A' or 'B' in the course you wish to tutor
- Cumulative LU GPA of at least 3.0
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from varying backgrounds
- Enthusiasm for helping students improve knowledge of course content and study habits
- Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organization
- Appropriate and professional behavior
- Preferred qualifications: letter of recommendation from instructor, tutoring experience, an 'A' in each course to tutor, excellent communication skills
