Job Summary
CAS Accounting Manager oversees client relationships and onboarding, provides CFO-advisory guidance on financial decisions, and leads the engagement team to deliver accurate monthly close, financial statements, and non-profit accounting services. Responsibilities include reviewing staff journal entries, preparing and reviewing financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation schedules, bill payments, payroll calculations, tax compliance, and software implementations. The role emphasizes onboarding new clients, communicating financial results to diverse clients, delegation and training of staff, and delivering actionable recommendations based on ratio analyses and budgeting/forecasting work. Requires public accounting background, CPA preferred, strong leadership and client-facing communication, and proficiency with QuickBooks and related software.
Required Qualifications
- Seven to ten years accounting experience, including 3 years in public accounting
- Experience with management or supervision of accounting teams
- Ability to analyze financial reports and present results and actionable recommendations to clients
- Non-profit accounting background and prior experience sitting on boards of non-profit organizations
- A Bachelor of Science degree or associate's degree in accounting or a related field
- CPA license preferred or actively pursuing licensure
- QuickBooks required and Relevant software experience (Karbon, T-Sheets, Gusto, ADP, Expensify, Bill.com, and/or Meevo preferred)
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills -- specifically Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Expert at decreasing monthly close time
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Display appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary confidentiality, integrity and professional presentation and conduct
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently
- An attitude of continuous improvement
