Job Summary
Greet guests warmly, utilize menu knowledge for situational selling, and package food and beverage orders promptly while wearing a headset to expedite service. Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, input orders into the computer system, and assist with expediting, delivery, and table pre-bussing tasks. Maintain a clean carryout area, monitor bakery stock levels, and safely handle food prep equipment. Effectively manage guest complaints by involving managers as needed and answer phone calls using company scripts. This role supports Bob Evans' mission of serving high-quality farm-fresh food with a focus on perfect plates and family dining experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years related experience
- Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant
- Ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise
- Detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize, good organizational skills
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
- Ability to freely access all areas of restaurant including selling floor(s), stock area, and register area
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for entire shift and walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down
- Must be able to push, lift, carry and transfer up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to reach with hands
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to bend and stoop
- Must be able to verbally communicate with others
- Must be able to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to wear a headset to communicate with managers and teammates
- Must be able to handle cash and credit transactions
- Must be able to accurately account for all receivables including cash, credit cards, coupons, and gift cards
- Must be able to practice safe food and beverage handling
- Must be able to safely handle food prep equipment such as beverage machines, salad cases, etc.
- Must be able to effectively handle guest complaints
- Must be able to answer phone calls using company script per meal period
- Must be able to accurately input carry out orders into the computer system
- Must be able to assist in greeting guests and escorting guests to tables
- Must be able to assist in cashing guests out if the cashier is not available
- Must be able to assist with pre-bussing tables, rolling silverware or any other needed task
- Must be able to greet all guests in a friendly, warm, and welcoming manner
- Must be able to understand and utilize menu knowledge and situational selling techniques when placing orders for carryout guests
- Must be able to package food and beverage orders, condiments, and appropriate items promptly and accurately
- Must be able to communicate professionally with guests to determine their needs and help them with the menu selections
- Must be able to keep carry out area clean of debris and keep the general work area stocked and clean
- Must be able to monitor the cleanliness, organization and stock levels of the bakery and retail areas
- Must be able to dependably perform each essential duty
