Job Summary
Lead all aspects of landlord work and vacant suite programs from initial scope creation through budgeting, execution, closeout, and handover, ensuring delivery within approved timelines. Manage tenant drawing reviews, approve specifications, and oversee capital projects including tendering, contractor selection, and finance activities. Proactively plan short-, medium-, and long-term vacant suite programs while establishing and enforcing sustainable design standards like LEED. Coordinate with departmental leads, external advisors, consultants, and vendors to track, report, and execute projects in compliance with lease terms, budgets, and safety codes. Manage multiple competing priorities across different sites, coach project teams, and address risks that could disrupt project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, Owner representative or Landlord
- Proven track record in program management, design and construction supervision
- French/English bilingualism (spoken, read and written)
- Knowledge of Contract Law and standard contract forms
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Building Code
- Ability to manage multiple projects, with competing priorities, across different sites
- Leadership ability to coach, mentor and manage a project team
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate and address contractor and supplier performance issues and recommend plans for improvement
- Ability to evaluate and address risks that have the potential to disrupt or jeopardize the project
- Proficient at creating accurate and succinct project correspondence and reports
Desired Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or equivalency
- LEED accreditation
- Knowledge of building code in British Columbia
- Experience managing projects at sites that are actively open to tenants and/or the general public
